W.T. Clarke Middle School in the East Meadow School District recently hosted its third annual “Soup-er” Bowl food drive. The schoolwide initiative, held the week leading up to the Super Bowl, was organized by the school’s guidance department in conjunction with the Builders Club.
Throughout the week, students donated a variety of nonperishable items for the cause, including pasta, canned soups and vegetables and even personal care items. On Jan. 31, students wore their favorite professional team’s jersey in anticipation of the upcoming Super Bowl and as a way of showing their support for their food drive initiative. All collected items were donated to the Island Harvest food bank on Long Island.
