Town of Hempstead Councilman Gary Hudes visited the student council at Barnum Woods Elementary School on Feb. 26 to discuss the importance and responsibilities of local government in the community.
Mr. Hudes discussed his duties as an elected official, spoke about local government and engaged students about their council. He emphasized the importance of diligence, companionship and communication, noting that such qualities define students as leaders among their peers and in their school community.
