Sixty-two students from the East Meadow School District have been recognized by The College Board for their exceptional performance on Advanced Placement (AP) exams taken during the 2011-2012 school year. Students at both East Meadow High School and W.T. Clarke High School are afforded the opportunity to participate in various AP courses through which they can earn college credit with a successful performance on their AP exams.
Four students were named an AP Scholar with Distinction meaning they received an average grade of 3.5 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams (out of the highest possible score of a 5). Congratulations to Jordi Lotito from W.T. Clarke High School and Harish Jeyasri, Neil Khosla and Sonya Mantell from East Meadow High School.
Congratulations are also extended to the students who were named an AP Scholar with Honor. These students received an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. From W.T. Clarke High School, these students are: Angela Carey, Alexander Cavanaugh, Kevin Chae, Christina Collado, Anna Cronin, Jason Dunleavy, Alexander Evangelatos, Gabrielle Hickey, Christina Johnson, Bryon Koff, Alexandra Leonardo, Gregory Look, Jake Louw, Nigina Mathew, Timothy Michel, Matthew Schwartz, Eitan Sheena, Daniel Wang and Tyler Yee. From East Meadow High School, the students are: Pooja Amin, Jigar Gosalia, Alexander Gross, Jagroop Hothi, Ariana Jimenez, Shujat Khan, Han Sung Kim, Louis Pollenz, Brandon Price, Shamoon Rizvi, Ajin Sam, Danielle Ullo and Anson Wang.
The district also acknowledges the students who were named AP Scholars, granted to those who scored an average grade of 3 or higher on three or more exams. From W.T. Clarke High School, they are: Chris Abanavas, Samantha Burd, Michael Chu, Melanie Garces, Brian Green, Stefanie Kaufman, Tevin Kim, Bianca Larenas, Patricia Luecken, Eric Rivera, Monica Rosenberg, Nadia Seerattan and Nicole Wahlig. The AP Scholars from East Meadow High School are: Tharshana Chandrakumar, Jacob Goodman, Sarah Hwang, Hyun Lee, Kristi Nowak, Tiffany Oommen, Akash Shetye, Alexa Spieler, Alvin Sumigcay, Harrison Tighe, Jaclyn Tortora, Nicole Zitzmann and Harrison Zucker.
