Critically acclaimed drum band Hip Pickles delivered an awe-inspiring performance to students at Barnum Woods Elementary School in an effort to promote the six pillars of character along with the district’s anti-bullying initiatives. Through this interactive presentation titled “Music with a Message,” student-volunteers were invited to play along with the Hip Pickles band. By working together to create beautiful rhythmic beats, the students portrayed the qualities of teamwork and cooperation. Hip Pickles also emphasized the importance of treating others fairly. “To be happy, you have to think about others,” drummer Chet stated. “You should always use the right words to make people feel good.”
