The East Meadow School District is pleased to announce that the W.T. Clarke High School varsity baseball team has won the Nassau County Class A Championship against Plainedge at Farmingdale College. The team, under the direction of head coach Tom Abruscato, cruised to a 10-3 victory and a two-game sweep against the Red Devils, which secured the team’s fifth Nassau County crown in the last 11 years and the first since 2009.
It was also a stellar year in coaching for Mr. Abruscato, who received the Mike Kostynick Memorial Award by the Nassau County Baseball Coaches Association for his outstanding achievement as a coach and sportsman and his designation as the 2013 Coach of the Year.
