Woodland Middle School Students Compete in Al Kalfus LI Math Fair

On March 4, 58 seventh and eighth-grade students of varying backgrounds in the Math Research Club at Woodland Middle School in the East Meadow Union Free School District participated in the first round of the Al Kalfus Long Island Math Fair at Hofstra University, coached by math teacher and advisor Eileen Lewner. Of the 58 students participating, 19 were selected to participate in the medal round on April 29. The second round of the competition is where the winners from the Nassau County competition will compete against the winners of the Suffolk County competition.
