Bindi Irwin, 12-year-old Australian activist, author of 16 “Bindi Wildlife Adventures” books, actress in the latest “Free Willy” movie, and daughter of the late documentarist and naturalist (and “Crocodile Hunter”) Steve Irwin, recently visited students at McVey Elementary School in the East Meadow Union Free School District.
Bindi spoke to the McVey students about her adventures, schooling, and experience as an author, and encouraged them all to “go on your own adventure, whether it be a local park or visiting me down under!”
The visit concluded with a question-and-answer session, and special gifts, such as DVDs, books, magazines, and stuffed animals, were given to the students who asked the questions.
McVey Elementary School is the first and only elementary school where Bindi Irwin has made an appearance, which was made possible through a partnership between McVey's PTA & Barnes & Noble.
